Warts, Milia And Skin Tags

Warts are small fleshy bumps on the skin due to Human papillomavirus (HPV). They are unfortunately contagious and can spread from one body part to the other or from person to person.
Milia or Oilseeds are small pearly white bumps frequently found around the eye area. They occur when dead skin becomes trapped in small pockets at the surface of the skin. Milia can also be confused with stubborn whiteheads. They are common in newborns and the elderly. In children, milia disappear within two to four weeks. In adults, they are usually persistent. Skin tags are benign skin growths thought to be caused by skin friction. They are usually found on the neck, underarms, and areas with friction.

Skin tags and Milia are usually removed for cosmetic reasons whereas warts are removed as they are contagious.

Skin tag, Milia and wart can be removed using electrocautery or an ablative laser-like co2. The treatment is done under local or topical anesthesia, the healing time is about 1 week during which the patient is advised to use an antibiotic cream.
